Bread Machine Reviews

If you are in the market for your first or even a replacement bread machine, then looking at various bread maker reviews around the web will be very helpful to you. A good review will have common characteristics to look for so you can differentiate the junk reviews from the quality ones.

1. They should give a solid list of the specific features the particular bread machine has to offer. Especially important are those features which distinguish the bread machine being reviewed from other bread machines. Most bread makers offer common features and some reviewers dig no deeper than this. However, knowing what makes it unique is what is going to help you decide which one to buy. If the review is of a lower priced model, and it happens to not include some of these common features, this should be noted as well.

2. Size- Due to space limitations in some peoples homes, getting a rough idea of the size of the appliance is very important.

3. Horizontal vs. vertical loaf pan- Seems like a minor issue, but most people have a preference, and not all reviewers take this into account.

4. Price Range- No review site should give exact prices. Due to global supply factors, currency fluctuations, and government regulations, prices can fluctuate often. That being said, a good reviewer will give some indication of the price range you are dealing with so you can decide to dig deeper or stop your search now. If a $200 bread machine is out of your price range, there is no point in forcing you to do more research before finding this out.

5. Customer Experience- All the technical features are fine, but when it comes down to it, what really matters is the experience of the customers. A good reviewer will either supply or link to customer experience so you can hear first hand what the bread machine is like.

So if you are looking for a good bread machine, take these tips to heart when you are considering the various bread machine reviews. There is a lot of garbage breadmaker reviews out there, so beware.

We use our bread machine to make pizza dough. Will the dough be tougher if we use regular all-purpose flour instead of bread flour? Bread flour is supposed to be richer in gluten so it will stand up better to being machine-kneaded, but I don’t know if it will matter since we are making pizza dough this time.

Any experience? Any technical know-how affecting this?

I am new at using a bread machine and I love it for mixing the ingredients and doing the dough cycle. I don’t like the shape of the bread though. So, what I like to do is after the dough cycle remove the dough and place it in a loaf pan, cover and let rise for about 30-45 minutes. Then, bake it in the oven. I have one recipe that tells me that I can bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes if I don’t want to bake the loaf in the bread machine but most recipes don’t include this information. Is there a general rule about how long to bake a loaf of bread and at what temperature or any other way of figuring it out?
