Best Bread Recipes

Figuring out what are the best bread recipes is nothing like figuring out was is the best bread maker.  It is kind of like asking what is the best wine, or what is the best car.  Everyone has their own preferences, and many of them have nothing to do with concrete measurable statistics.

When considering cars, one person may say, I like x model because it has a spoiler.  The next person might say, I dislike x model because it has a spoiler.  It is all completely objective.  The same goes for bread recipes.  Someone might say, I like x recipe because it has a crunchy crust, and the next person may say, I dislike x recipe because it has a crunchy crust.

Bread machines are far easier to pick the best.  For the most part, everyone is really looking for a breadmaker that will consistently put out good quality loaves of bread while making the process as simple as possible.  Yes there are some space and budget qualifiers, but if you set all those aside, it is pretty easy to pick which one is the best.

So it goes with bread recipes and trying to determine which is best.  The best we can do since there is such a wide array of tastes and preferences when it comes to bread is to point out bread recipe books that tend to be well respected in the bread baking communities, and those that seem to be easier to use than others.

So what we have tried to include is recipe books that include a wide array of bread types and are well received:

I hope you enjoy, and happy baking.

Best Bread Maker Pizza Dough

When I was a kid working my way through high school and college, I spent most of my “career” working in a pizza shop. I began to love making pizza from scratch. Starting with the raw dough ingredients and taking it all the way to the point of sending the pizza either out the door for delivery or out to the dining room to be eaten.

My thoroughly enjoyed this process, but my favorite two parts in the process were forming/ stretching the dough, and putting the cheese on the pizza. The cheese part was because I like a lot of cheese on my pizza, and so I would make each pizza like I was going to eat it. My boss was not a fan of this strategy, but I enjoyed.

The pizza stretching part was just fun. I worked there for about 5 years, and got to the point where I could throw stretch the dough. Nothing like you see by the pros in Pizzerias around the globe, but it is still an accomplishment I am proud of. One time another cook and I decided we wanted to try to throw stretch the dough back and forth. First throw sent the dough nearly flying out the window and on to a customers table. A quick last minute grab by a coworker saved the customer, but the dough was ruined and I had to start over. Good times though that I remember quite fondly.

I am not saying it is necessary to get to or to practice the art of throwing the dough, but it is fun. However, the key to successful pizza and throwable dough is in the dough itself. Many people have spent time perfecting pizza dough recipes for a bread maker. Here are some of the best we found-

Bread Machine Recipes

Most Bread machines come with recipes included in the instruction manual. If yours did not, then you bought the wrong machine. From our experience, as far as usability goes, the Zojirushi Bread Machine has one of the best manuals on the market.

Even the Panasonic Bread machine recipes included in their manual are great to start with. We found the Panasonic breadmaker manual a little more difficult to navigate which is why we prefer the Zojirushi.

However, for some, moving beyond the offerings of the included manual will become a reality sooner rather than later. A desire for a broader base of recipes as well as more unique and exotic bread machine recipe will start you searching. Well search no more, we have done the research for you. Based on our research, we highly recommend buying a bread maker recipe book.

We have found most free sites sub par due to lack of specifics when it comes to measurements, ingredients, bake times, and bake temperature. Sure you can find some good ones, but the time you waste and the ingredients you waste in that pursuit are not worth it in our opinion.

Below are some recipe books we would recommend to get you started. We hope you enjoy!
