Best Waffle Maker

I get many unique questions from people who know I am in the bread maker review business.  The one I find the most annoying is when people ask for free breadmakers.  What makes it more bothersome is the frequency with which I get the request.  Must have something to do with the economy.

I also get a number of questions about other product lines and I find some of them humorous.  Like just the other day, some asked me, ” What is the best waffle maker or best waffle iron?”  I am not sure it struck me as funny as if there was some relationship between the best bread maker and the best waffle maker.

Unfortunately, I have not reviewed an waffle irons or waffle makers.  Now don’t get me wrong, I love waffles.  My personal preference is the thinner ones with many  divots rather than the thick ones with the deep divots.

From my understanding, waffle maker all pretty much do the same thing once you get the divot thing resolved.  I guess the only other issue is whether or not you like square or round waffles.  For me it is square, but I will just as happily eat a round one.

I have never been one for adding anything but butter and syrup on my waffles.  Growing up my mom used to make chicken and gravy over waffles, non thanks.  I have tried waffle sundaes, no thanks again.  Fruit or Jam on my waffles- Not for this guy.

So probably due to my lack of variety in my waffle likings, waffle makers have never come up on my review list, and I do not foresee it any time in the near future.  For now I am content searching and discovering what is the best bread maker in various situations.

However, if you cam hear looking for a good breadmaker, below is one that was recommended to me:

Best Bread Recipes

Figuring out what are the best bread recipes is nothing like figuring out was is the best bread maker.  It is kind of like asking what is the best wine, or what is the best car.  Everyone has their own preferences, and many of them have nothing to do with concrete measurable statistics.

When considering cars, one person may say, I like x model because it has a spoiler.  The next person might say, I dislike x model because it has a spoiler.  It is all completely objective.  The same goes for bread recipes.  Someone might say, I like x recipe because it has a crunchy crust, and the next person may say, I dislike x recipe because it has a crunchy crust.

Bread machines are far easier to pick the best.  For the most part, everyone is really looking for a breadmaker that will consistently put out good quality loaves of bread while making the process as simple as possible.  Yes there are some space and budget qualifiers, but if you set all those aside, it is pretty easy to pick which one is the best.

So it goes with bread recipes and trying to determine which is best.  The best we can do since there is such a wide array of tastes and preferences when it comes to bread is to point out bread recipe books that tend to be well respected in the bread baking communities, and those that seem to be easier to use than others.

So what we have tried to include is recipe books that include a wide array of bread types and are well received:

  • [ReviewAZON asin="0312545525" display="inlinepost"]- healthy recipes
  • [ReviewAZON asin="0778802388" display="inlinepost"]- gluten free recipes
  • [ReviewAZON asin="0806997001" display="inlinepost"]- bread maker recipes

I hope you enjoy, and happy baking.

Best Bread Maker Pizza Dough

When I was a kid working my way through high school and college, I spent most of my “career” working in a pizza shop. I began to love making pizza from scratch. Starting with the raw dough ingredients and taking it all the way to the point of sending the pizza either out the door for delivery or out to the dining room to be eaten.

My thoroughly enjoyed this process, but my favorite two parts in the process were forming/ stretching the dough, and putting the cheese on the pizza. The cheese part was because I like a lot of cheese on my pizza, and so I would make each pizza like I was going to eat it. My boss was not a fan of this strategy, but I enjoyed.

The pizza stretching part was just fun. I worked there for about 5 years, and got to the point where I could throw stretch the dough. Nothing like you see by the pros in Pizzerias around the globe, but it is still an accomplishment I am proud of. One time another cook and I decided we wanted to try to throw stretch the dough back and forth. First throw sent the dough nearly flying out the window and on to a customers table. A quick last minute grab by a coworker saved the customer, but the dough was ruined and I had to start over. Good times though that I remember quite fondly.

I am not saying it is necessary to get to or to practice the art of throwing the dough, but it is fun. However, the key to successful pizza and throwable dough is in the dough itself. Many people have spent time perfecting pizza dough recipes for a bread maker. Here are some of the best we found-

Best Bread Maker Reviews

Being in the business of reviewing bread machines, I read a lot of poor reviews out there.  In fact, I probably wrote a few bad ones myself when I first got started.  My goal is to not only provide the best reviews of bread machines on the market, but also to review all the best bread makers on the market.

Some tips to look for when reading a reviews and considering a machine for yourself and your families kitchen.

  1. Size- This seems obvious, but the fact is some kitchens have more counter and storage space than others.  So buying the biggest possible breadmaker on the market if your kitchen is the size of a postage stamp does not make any sense and you will have much less enjoyment from it.  However, if you have a huge kitchen with massive counters, then a small bread machine may seem too small aesthetically.  Another size issue to consider is how much bread your family will consume.  If it will be a lot, then a small loaf pan bread maker is not quite right for you.
  2. Color- Some companies offer various colors while others only have one option.  If this is going to stay on your counter top, you may want to make sure it fits your decor.
  3. Your Budget- Prices for bread machines range from below $50 to over $200 and you pretty much get what you pay for.  All of them will do a decent job, but if you want to get into the fancier bread types or just having more options available to you, then you will need to spend a little more.
  4. Types of Breads- there are some bread machines that are better fitted for dietary special breads like gluten free.  If that is a concern for you, search “best gluten free bread maker” to direct you as to the better options for this.
  5. Your Bread making Skills- Some of the higher end model of breadmakers offer you features which will compensate of even the most beginners lack of skills.

So as you go out and read the various reviews, take these tips under consideration so you can ensure that you are getting the best bread maker for your family.  Happy Baking!

Best Bread Mixer

When giving my opinion on what is the best bread mixer, I fear that I will sound redundant.  To be completely honest, most bread machines today do a good job as a bread mixer.  That being said, the top ones are the larger machines from Zojirushi.  The dual kneading paddles help to ensure that the all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed before either moving to the next cycle or allowing you to remove the dough to finish the processing as you see fit.

A good bread mixer needs to thoroughly mix all the ingredients to ensure that they are evenly distributed throughout the whole loaf.  This helps to keep from getting lumpy or clumpy bread.

Sometimes, I get a little impatient during the mixing time.  I look in through the viewing window and see what looks like a perfectly mixed lump of dough.  I always get tempted to just pull it out and start working with it right away.   However, I always resist and let my little bread mixer do its job all the way to the end.

I know lately I have been sounding redundant touting the great features of the Zojirushi bread machine, but the fact is, I have owned/ used other brands.  This company has truly created a great brand and it is why I stake my reputation on it.

If anyone has a different opinion regarding what is the best bread mixer, or has had a negative experience with Zojirushi breadmaker, I would definitely like to hear it.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy your baking.

Zojirushi Bread Maker

Zojirushi is a Japanese company that has been manufacturing quality products for almost one hundred years.  The line of Zojirushi Bread Makers continue this standard of excellence and provide fantastic bread making opportunities for the smallest or most opulent kitchens.

[ReviewAZON asin="B002XVUAOU" display="inlinepost"]

They have used their nearly a century of experience and a sensitive finger on the pulse of consumer desires and needs to create products the users rave about.  The Zojirushi Bread Maker is currently offered in four varieties.   Three large, one of which is featured above, and one smaller for apartments or smaller houses.

[ReviewAZON asin="B000G32H84" display="inlinepost"]

The large bread makers come in to options, the one above, and a white option which is right below.

[ReviewAZON asin="B0000T6J3I" display="inlinepost"]

The final large version is so new we have yet to review it.  It is garnering positive feedback at amazon, but we personally have not purchased it yet.

[ReviewAZON asin="B003GXFZYO" display="inlinepost"]

All three larger Zojirushi Bread Makers offer custom recipe programming so you can put your own recipes in the machine and it will save the steps for future use.  A great feature for those looking to take advantage of the bread machine’s strength when it comes to making gluten free bread.

It is abundantly clear to us that Zojirushi is not fooling around when it comes to manufacturing top notch bread machines.  They are forever refining based on engineering advances and customer feedback.

Due to the long history of quality, Zojirushi stands behind their quality products.  My Zojirushi Bread Machine suffers maximum abuse, but it just keeps on ticking.  If you want a bread machine that is built like a tank, then do yourself a favor and buy the Zojirushi breadmaker.  You will not regret it.  I know I have not.  Now go bake some bread.

Best Gluten Free Bread Maker

People are always asking me what is the best gluten free bread maker?  While this is an easy answer for me, I will also explain why as well.  For our money, the best gluten free bread maker is the the Zojirushi BBCCX20 Home Bakery Supreme Bread Machine.  Hands down the best breadmaker to use for gluten free bread.

There are two main features that the Zojirushi bread machine boasts that few others do.  These features are what make it the best gluten free bread machine.

1.  Double Kneading Paddles- Due to the fact that some of the gluten free flour alternatives tend to be heavier or more dense, the dough can also be described the same way.  This can cause some of the single paddle machines to inadequately mix the dough thoroughly and therefore your bread suffers.  The double kneading paddles offers the strength needed to completely mix together all the gluten free bread ingredients.

2.  The Programmable Recipe Feature- Again, because of the different flours utilized in gluten free bead, and because these flours have unique baking needs, the preset baking programs on some bread machines limit your ability to make good bread.  The custom programming abilities of the Zojirushi Home Bakery allow you to specifically set the baking needs to what you want or need for your particular flour choice.

Another great feature that has nothing to do with making gluten free bread, but is a major plus for the Zojirushi is the power loss backup.  Thanks to this, if your power goes out, you will not need to throw away the ruined batch of dough, the bread machine will remember where it left off and pick up again when the power is restored.

There are other bread machines that may offer some of these great features, but we have yet to find one that offers all.  If gluten free bread is at your hearts desire, the do yourself a favor and get the Zojirushi breadmaker.

Breadmaker Reviews

Bread Makers are fantastic.  With just a few ingredients, and the touch of a few buttons, you and your family can be enjoying the scrumptious delights of fresh baked bread.  All thanks to the wonderful person who invented bread machines.

Think about it, for centuries your only choice was to spend hours at the arduous task of baking bread.  You had to add the ingredients, mix it, let it rise, knead it, let it rise, knead it, let it rise, preheat your oven, bake it, cool it, slice it.  With a bread machine, all you need to is add the ingredients, and slice it in the end, the bread maker does the rest.

One of the great perks of my job as writing bread maker reviews is the chance to experiment and taste many great breads, but they also do much more.  Most of them can bake cakes, make jams, make pizza dough, and much more.  I even saw a video of someone roasting coffee in one, but I do not recommend this.

If your family enjoys bread, they I highly recommend you treat yourself and your family to a breadmaker.  Not only can you save money, the bread is usually better for you thanks to less preservatives.  You can also taylor your breads to your specific dietary concerns.  Do you have celiac disease and need gluten free bread?  No problem.  Want more fiber?  No problem.  The sky is the limit regarding what you can do and make with your bread machine.  You are only limited by your imagination and science.

If you need more information, please take some time to read our other bread maker reviews.  Find out what is best for you, which features are to your liking, and what bread machine is best for your lifestyle.

Bread Machine Reviews

If you are in the market for your first or even a replacement bread machine, then looking at various bread maker reviews around the web will be very helpful to you.   A good review will have common characteristics to look for so you can differentiate the junk reviews from the quality ones.

1. They should give a solid list of the specific features the particular bread machine has to offer.  Especially important are those features which distinguish the bread machine being reviewed from other bread machines.  Most bread makers offer common features and some reviewers dig no deeper than this.  However, knowing what makes it unique is what is going to help you decide which one to buy.  If the review is of a lower priced model, and it happens to not include some of these common features, this should be noted as well.

2.  Size- Due to space limitations in some peoples homes, getting a rough idea of the size of the appliance is very important.

3.  Horizontal vs. vertical loaf pan- Seems like a minor issue, but most people have a preference, and not all reviewers take this into account.

4.  Price Range-  No review site should give exact prices.  Due to global supply factors, currency fluctuations, and government regulations, prices can fluctuate often.  That being said, a good reviewer will give some indication of the price range you are dealing with so you can decide to dig deeper or stop your search now.  If a $200 bread machine is out of your price range, there is no point in forcing you to do more research before finding this out.

5. Customer Experience-  All the technical features are fine, but when it comes down to it, what really matters is the experience of the customers.  A good reviewer will either supply or link to customer experience so you can hear first hand what the bread machine is like.

So if you are looking for a good bread machine, take these tips to heart when you are considering the various bread machine reviews.  There is a lot of garbage breadmaker reviews out there, so beware.
